Day One
Arrive at Jemma Kidd’s studio, which is smart, light and contemporary and am greeted by some friendly, familiar faces and then introduced to the other members of the team.
It seemed that over the next three days we would be concentrating on 4 main looks ( inspired by themes from the catwalk ). Also, mother of the bride and the growing market of men’s grooming, which was the first thing that we had a demo on.
We discussed a lot of information about best available products tried and tested by the experts.
After lunch, it was then our turn having watched another demo and then recreating the look called ” Super Nova “. This was a wonderful natural wedding look, slightly smokey, incorporating browns and natural pigments.
Day Two.
Our next look called ” Metallica Rose ” was demonstrated. This was an up to the minute look with a theme, mixing silvers and browns. The foundation was finished off using the airbrushing technique, ( great for high resolution images, when using professional photographers ) and a wonderful clear, flawless, natural look was then achieved. The lips and cheeks were artistically placed and it was then our turn to recreate what we had seen.
Day Three.
Having first discussed the business side of the market, we then went on to view our third look called ” Oceanic ”
This was a lovely soft contemporary look, incorporating greens. It could be translated to any age group from bridesmaid, to mother of the bride and was pretty and feminine.
After we had practiced Oceanic, we then went on to watch our fourth and final look called ” Graphite ”
This was a “smokey eye look ” and it was thought that, as many weddings were now taking part in the latter part of the day, this would be a great look to offer. It could also be used for evenings and special occasions.
Having repeated what we had seen, we had then come to the end of the course.
I felt i had truly been inspired by what i had seen, i had definitely learnt a lot and by some of the best make-up educators in the U.K.

Sounds really interesting. Do you have any photos of the looks you created?
