Having visited my local beauty salon for a number of years, they were always interested in what I was up to regarding all the training courses that I went on. So, It was really great when I was asked to come along and teach some wedding make up to them.

I decided that I would keep the training on quite an informal fun basis and just go through a few popular looks on 3 different age groups.

1. The first look was a very natural one, but none the less very popular and always seemed to go down very well with clients.

It consisted of using light Gold and Champagne colours, focusing very much on creating a beautiful natural flawless finish to the skin and finishing off with a touch of glitter on the eye lid ( optional to the client ). This look can be carried out on varying age groups - the model that I worked was in 30 some thing age group.

2. The second look was on a mature client ( perhaps mother of the bride ), working to create a glowing and youthful version at her comfort level. I incorporated some of MACS Vanilla pigment and a darker Mauve/Grey in the socket to complement the colour of her eyes. Attention was given to keeping the make-up in an up ward motion and not dragging down creating an aging effect. The over all effect was to create a modern and elegant finish.

3. The third and final look was on a young girl 18 - 20 and one, which could easily be used on a bridesmaid. I used some of MACS paints and pigments on the eyes, with a pale pink theme creating beautiful youthful look. Attention was given to the skin to ensure a flawless finished result and lips were finished with a slightly pink coloured gloss.

I really enjoyed my time teaching in the salon and I believe that they felt inspired by what they had learnt. I do hope that they will now be able to go on with some extra added confidence of their newly learnt wedding make-up skills, continuing to make women feel beautiful on their special day.
