Tips: If I had to offer my tips to newly engaged brides to be for planning their wedding they would be:

  1. Keep it simple – over complicating things will give you a headache and no one will probably notice anyway. It’s a big event to organise, but do your research, have lists, and it isn’t anywhere near as daunting as it seems.
  2. Go for the dress you want, regardless of cost (within reason!) you can save money on so many other areas. It’s important you feel like a goddess!
  3. Try to set aside money to have your hair and make-up done professionally if possible. It really does make all the difference to the final look, and you feel so pampered and special, as you should!
  4. Ask your Mum / Aunt / someone you trust to fill individually tailored party bags for any children. It keeps the kids out of mischief, makes them feel special, and only need cost a fiver. Think joke books, a small deck of cards, colouring books and pencils, puzzles from Christmas crackers. Although avoid anything noisy, that flies or bounces, requires batteries or is full of E numbers.
  5. There is no shame in wearing magic knickers under your dress!
  6. On the day your hard work is done. Don’t sweat the little things, any hiccoughs leave to the bridal party to sort. If you’re well organised, everyone should know what to do in every eventuality. The most important thing is that you are marrying your man, surrounded by the people you love, and THAT is what matters. If you are relaxed and happy, so will everyone else be, and no one will notice if something goes wrong.
